JAMMU, November 13: Rajput Charitable Trust Chairman (Founder, Chairman & Trustee DPS Jammu) MP Ajatshatru Singh and Pro DPS Vice Chairman Kunwrani Ritu Singh laid the foundation stone for the Aakanksha handball court in the Delhi Public School (DPS), here today.
This is a pioneering initiative taken in memory and recognition of the late Aakanksha Gupta, DIPSITE batch 2018-19, an avid handball player. The “Shanti Path” and “Bhoomi Poojan” for the handball court have been carried out on a 3600 square meter multi-use field in DPS Jammu, where the proposed handball field will be built in accordance with international standards. The field will also be used for football, cricket, volleyball and athletics.
MK Ajatshatru Singh and Kunwrani Ritu Singh reaffirmed their commitment to the holistic growth of the school. They added that their support is not limited to the development of infrastructure for the use of sport, but that the school will also provide the necessary support to students from marginalized sections of society to meet their immediate needs and demands.
The event brought together Aakanksha family members, DPS Jammu staff and children from marginalized segments of society.
